Baltimore Housing Celebrates the Bon Secours Gibbons Apartments Grand Opening
Baltimore Housing Paul T. Graziano joined the members of the Bon Secours Baltimore Health System, Enterprise Community Investors, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, residents and the community for a grand opening celebration of the Bon Secours Gibbons Apartments on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.
“We are excited to celebrate the grand opening of Bon Secours Gibbons Apartments, which will offer families 80 new, affordable homes near jobs, transportation and healthcare facilities, “ said Baltimore Housing Commissioner Paul T. Graziano. “The creation of affordable housing in this vibrant community will be supported by $870,000 in HOME funds from the city as well as vouchers for 20 units offered through the Housing Authority of Baltimore City.”
Bon Secours Gibbons Apartments consist of 80 modern, high-quality affordable homes for families, individuals and adults with disabilities. A mix of 24 one-bedroom, 48 two-bedroom and 8 three-bedroom homes are being offered to residents. The apartments are the first new construction at Gibbons Commons, a vibrant mixed-use community conceived by St. Agnes Healthcare.
The buildings LEED Silver design features elements focused on energy efficiency and a healthy environment, including a highly efficient HVAC system; double-pane windows; water-conserving plumbing; energy-saving light fixtures and Green Label carpet.
