HABC to Celebrate Empowerment Month with a Host of Events for Residents
The Housing Authority of Baltimore City's Office of Resident Services (ORS) will kick-off Empowerment Month with a “Homeownership Roundtable.” The event will be hosted by the Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) on May 3, 2016 at 10:00am at Pleasant View Gardens (PVG). Representatives from the Housing Choice Voucher Program’s Homeownership Program, Habitat for Humanity and St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center will present valuable information on all aspects of the home buying process. Certificates of participation will be awarded at the end of the session.
Throughout the month, ORS will host many fun and informative events for residents, including:
“Mother’s Day Brunch” & “Youth and Adult Financial Literacy Workshop” - hosted by the ORS Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) on May 7, 2016 at 10:00am at Pleasant View Gardens. Staff will provide a nutritious brunch for participants and their families. A special activity is planned in which the youth will present a "surprise" to their mothers. A “household/family financial planning” presentation will also be incorporated into the event.
“Skills Training Fair” - hosted by the ORS PACE Program on May 10, 2016 at 10:00 am at Pleasant View Gardens. Vendors will be on hand to share information and provide on-site skills training to attendees. Limited transportation will be provided from selected public housing sites.
